Daniel was born in Montreal but grew up in Toronto where he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. Daniel also holds a second law degree from the University of Western Michigan, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Daniel has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, in both criminal and civil cases. He has over 10 years experience representing clients in court and at administrative tribunals, at trial and on appeal. He works very hard for his clients to achieve realistic and sometimes outstanding and unusual results. Daniel is sought out as a highly skilled and effective lawyer and his practice spans all of British Columbia and on occasion Alberta. He has appeared in person at over 50 different courthouses to speak to court cases on behalf of clients.
Daniel’s diverse skill set has made him a tremendous asset to Jensen Law. His practice is a unique blend of criminal and civil matters, a testament to his versatility. Since joining Jensen Law, Daniel has assisted clients in recovering millions of dollars from defendants through settlements and trials and he has helped clients defend civil cases brought against them. Daniel has also acted in cases involving complex Charter litigation, including cases involving the successful striking down of legislation as unconstitutional, other cases involving successfully arguing for the exclusion of unlawfully obtained evidence and successfully arguing for judicial stays of proceedings to be imposed as a result of breaches of Charter rights. He has assisted clients in being acquitted at trial of charges ranging from murder, sexual assault, drug trafficking, firearms importation, assault and others. He has also consistently achieved outstanding sentencing results for his clients. Finally, Daniel takes a great interest in pursuing appeals and has successfully assisted clients in appeals from conviction and from sentence, both as appellant and respondent.
